UBNJ LEGISLATIVE CORNER…SPRING ‘08

I have to give a tip of the camo cap to the New Jersey Outdoor Alliance; Anthony Mauro Sr., Jerry Natale, and Corey Wingerter. What these gentlemen accomplished in a scant four months leading up to November’s elections was nothing short of incredible; and a driving force behind the removal of the animal rights pandering incumbents in Dist 12. The NJOA was able to unite many factions of the outdoor community and get them to lay their egos aside and focus on a common goal, and were successful in driving that goal home!
But my biggest salute is to YOU, the sportspersons that supported the NJOA’s mission by donating money, time, or making phone calls and writing letters, and most importantly by VOTING. Please understand that without YOU organizations like the NJOA or the UBNJ are NOTHING. YOU are the movers and shakers of the outdoor community, YOU are the glue that holds these organizations together, and most importantly YOU are the muscle behind the organization. Without YOU, we accomplish nothing.
I can promise you that the UBNJ will be very active during the 213th Legislature. We have already taken the initial steps to introduce “No Net Loss of Hunting Land” legislation. We will be pushing the bills for the reduction of the 450’ safety zone for bowhunters and Sunday Bowhunting. And we will most definitely be supporting the proposed amendment to New Jersey’s Constitution to ensure our RIGHT to Hunt, Fish, and Trap.
We will have many things on our plate, and we still have many adversaries. We will need your support, your voice, and your muscle; but I know that we can count on you…You are BOWHUNTERS!
